Terms of Service
Effective: April 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of Lixir, a Slack application for structured async decision-making, and the lixir.app website. By installing or using Lixir, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Lixir is a Slack application that enables structured async decision-making in channels. Users invoke a slash command to post structured questions that teammates can vote on. Items deferred to meetings are tracked in a backlog via Slack Lists or Google Sheets.
Lixir is a hosted service that runs on Cloudflare Workers and stores data in Cloudflare D1. It integrates with your Slack workspace via Slack's API.
2. Subscription & Billing
Lixir is offered in three tiers:
- Free — 10 lifetime questions, 1 channel, Slack List backlog.
- Pro (€29/mo) — Unlimited questions, 1 channel, Slack List + Google Sheets backlog.
- Team (€79/mo) — Unlimited questions, unlimited channels, per-channel Google Sheets, configurable approval mode, analytics dashboard.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By proceeding to Stripe Checkout, you consent to Stripe processing your payment details under Stripe's privacy policy. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds will be issued for partial billing periods or unused time.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Slack workspace administration: You are responsible for managing who has access to your Slack workspace and, by extension, the ability to create questions and vote via Lixir.
- Content: You are responsible for the content of questions, context, and links submitted through Lixir. Do not submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights.
- Google Sheets integration: Connecting Google Sheets is optional and requires your explicit consent via Google's OAuth consent screen. By completing the OAuth flow, you grant Lixir permission to create and update spreadsheets in the connected Google account. Question metadata (title, author, status, timestamps) will be synced to your Google Sheet. You may withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting the integration in Lixir's settings or revoking access in your Google account. You are responsible for managing access to those spreadsheets.
- Compliance: You are responsible for ensuring your use of Lixir complies with applicable laws and regulations, as well as Slack's terms of service.
4. Data & Security
Slack tokens and Google OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-tenant encryption keys. Question content is not stored in our database — it lives in Slack messages and, optionally, Google Sheets. We store only question metadata (status, channel, timestamps) and Slack user IDs, scoped by workspace to enforce tenant isolation. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what data is collected, how it is stored, and your rights under GDPR (including data access, erasure, and portability).
5. Third-Party Services
Lixir integrates with third-party services including Slack, Google Sheets, Stripe, and Cloudflare. We do not control these third parties and make no guarantees regarding their continued availability, compatibility, pricing, or terms of service.
If a third-party dependency is removed, discontinued, or altered in a way that impairs Lixir's functionality, we are not obligated to find an alternative or maintain compatibility. Such events may result in reduced functionality or discontinuation of Lixir without liability on our part.
6. Limitation of Liability
Lixir is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service — including any decisions made or not made based on questions processed through Lixir.
Lixir is a tool for facilitating team discussions and decisions. It does not constitute professional advice. You are solely responsible for the decisions your team makes, regardless of whether they were facilitated through Lixir.
Under no circumstances shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for your Lixir subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
7. Support
Support is provided on a best-effort basis via email. We do not offer guaranteed response times or a service level agreement (SLA).
8. Discontinuation & Availability
We reserve the right to discontinue, suspend, or cease development of Lixir at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. This includes, but is not limited to, situations involving:
- Personal circumstances of the developer
- Economic infeasibility or lack of sustainability
- Legal, regulatory, or compliance concerns
- Technical limitations or architectural constraints
- Changes to Slack's platform, APIs, or policies
In the event of discontinuation, paid subscriptions will not be renewed after their current billing period. No refunds will be issued for the remaining subscription period. We are under no obligation to provide continued updates, support, or security patches.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden.
